Global Accessibility Management (GAM) is a subsidiary of Young Son Rising LLC, a New York-based NGO founded by disability rights activist Mr. Ivan Alevante. Established in Ghana in 2022, GAP works to improve the lives of PWDs through advocacy, education, housing, and social inclusion.

Who We Are

We are Young Son Rising LLC, a nonprofit organization based in New York City, USA, incorporating Global Accessibility Management (GAM)—a subsidiary initiative operating in Ghana. Both entities were founded by our dynamic Executive Director, Mr. Ivan Alevante, a seasoned Disability Rights Activist who has played a significant role in shaping disability policies inspired by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

GAM was born out of Mr. Alevante’s vision to replicate ADA’s success—originally enacted in the 1930s to secure the rights and opportunities of people with disabilities (PWDs)—in Ghana and beyond. With experience and passion, Mr. Alevante leads our mission to ensure that individuals with disabilities in Africa can live empowered, dignified, and productive lives.

Our Mission

To make a lasting difference in the lives of people with disabilities (PWDs) in Ghana and across Africa by promoting inclusive access to education, employment, healthcare, housing, and community life.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a society where people with disabilities are empowered and fully included through:

1. Rights

Building awareness and changing public perceptions so that PWDs are accepted, not alienated.

Advocating for the human rights and social inclusion of PWDs.

Empowering PWDs to be active and productive contributors to their communities.

2. Education

Offering skill-based education and vocational training that lead to long-term employment and self-reliance.

3. Employment

Creating fair and equal employment opportunities for PWDs.

Supporting the development of small-scale businesses led by PWDs.

4. Accessibility

Educating the public and the construction sector on accessible infrastructure.

Promoting disability-friendly building standards that support independence.

5. Transit Services

Launching affordable and inclusive transport services to improve mobility for PWDs.

6. Socializing

Creating safe and inclusive recreational centers for PWDs to build social networks and community bonds.

Our long-term goal is to establish a self-sustaining, ADA-compliant community model within 3 to 5 years by collaborating with local governments, businesses, and community stakeholders.

Our Partners

Global Accessibility Management (GAM) proudly partners with the Islamic Council for Development and Humanitarian Services (ICODEHS), a respected NGO headquartered in Accra, Ghana. Founded in 1991 by Sheikh Mustapha Ibrahim, ICODEHS is a well-established humanitarian organization with a strong regional footprint across West, Central, and East Africa.

Though rooted in Islamic leadership, both GAM and ICODEHS operate holistically and inclusively—serving all vulnerable individuals regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or background.

Our Core Values (Goals)

Promote dignity, equality, and opportunity for all PWDs

Build an inclusive, accessible, and empowering environment

Encourage sustainability through local economic engagement

Expand awareness and policy development for disability rights

Develop a working model of an ADA-compliant community in Africa

GAM is not just an organization—it is a movement for dignity, inclusion, and transformation. With the right support and partnerships, we aim to change lives, shift mindsets, and build a world where accessibility is a right, not a privilege.
